About Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and the seventh-most populous city in the United Kingdom, with over half a million inhabitants. Located in south-east Scotland, the city is a cultural centre and is home of the National Museum of Scotland, the National Library of Scotland and the Scottish National Gallery.

Edinburgh is a major tourism centre, welcoming over 4 millions visitors annually. The city is also known for the Edinburgh International Festival, an arts festival happening each year in August. The principal venue of the Festival is the famous Usher Hall, a concert hall built in 1914 and used by the festival since its creation in 1947.

There are many attractions in Edinburgh, such as visiting the four hill forts of the city, or exploring one of the many museums. The old town is also full of shops, pubs and historical monuments to visit.
