100 kurus is equivalent to one lira.
On the denominations you can see the image of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the İshak Paşa Palace near Doğubeyazıt, in Ephesus, Cappadocia, the Piri Reis map, the Atatürk Mausoleum and the Atatürk Reservoir Dam.
The Turkish lira was first introduced as the official currency of Turkey in 1844.
