The Jordanian dinars were introduced in 1950, replacing the Palestinian pound, a currency that had circulated during the British mandate.
The blue ten-dinar note is dedicated to the first Jordanian Parliament. On the reverse of the 10 dinars bill is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Petra in Jordan. The final scenes of the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were filmed at the site.
